About the University

The Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE) is the leading public university in the field of management and economics in the Czech Republic. The university was celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2023. VŠE has six faculties offering applicants a broad spectrum of study fields and branches in bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree study programs. Five faculties are located in the centre of Prague – the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, the Faculty of International Relations, the Faculty of Business Administration, the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics, and the Faculty of Economics. The Faculty of Management is located in the town of Jindřichův Hradec in South Bohemia. Studies at VŠE meet the requirements of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).

Currently, there are about 14,000 students at VŠE. VŠE offers bachelor’s degree study programmes in Czech, English, and Russian; master’s degree study programmes are offered in Czech and English. Since 2007, there has been a Centre for Students with Special Needs at VŠE (the former Centre for Disabled Students).

 

 

INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATIONS AND RANKING

The university is highly appraised both in the Czech Republic and abroad. The Faculty of Business Administration (home faculty of the CEMS Programme) is EQUIS accredited, which ranks the faculty among the top 1% of business schools in the world. The university is highly appraised both in the Czech Republic and abroad. In March 2024, VŠE became the first university in the Czech Republic to be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

VŠE is ranked by the Financial Times annually and has already been appraised for several years by the Eduniversal Ranking project as one of the best “business schools” in Central and Eastern Europe.

FACULTY OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

The Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at the Prague University of Economics and Business is among the most respected schools in Central and Eastern Europe focused on the field of management. The FBA is the only faculty in the Czech Republic that has the Triple Crown accreditation. The Triple Crown accreditation is a combination of three prestigious international accreditations: AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA. This means the FBA ranks among the 1% of best business schools in the world.

There are approximately 3,500 full-time students at the FBA. We offer study at bachelor’s, master and doctoral levels. Two of our programmes – International Management (CEMS MIM) and Management (previously Business Economics and Management) – are regularly placed in the prestigious Financial Times global business education rankings.

Relations with the business community are one of the top priorities of the FBA. The faculty has contracts with almost 100 corporate partners. To see the full list, go here.
